As a result, what we need to know about living and being human the way God wants us to be can be found in the life and words of Jesus. This line of thinking is what lies behind the WWJD bracelet craze from a few years ago. Any problem, any dilemma, any crossroad faced in life can easily be resolved simply by figuring out “what Jesus would do.”. What Would Jesus Do? - The Answer Depends on Whether we Know Jesus Before we can ask the question 'What would Jesus do?' We must ask ourselves whether we know Jesus. Knowing Jesus begins with reading about His life, teachings and claims in the Bible. However, reading the Bible as literature alone only helps us to learn ABOUT Jesus.
Those who rate this movie poorly are missing the intent of the movie and I guess to understand the intent you would have to understand WWJD. Any believer in Jesus believes in what the movie is trying to get across which it did very well. A stranger comes to a town, like many of ours, where the people place everything in their lives ahead of any thought of faith in Jesus. They are pursing what has often happened in the Old Testament wherein sin rules. This movie did for me and I am sure others who have watched it that when we make decisions in life and we are unsure what we should do, we should ask 'What Would Jesus Do.'
I intend to use this movie as the subject of our church's Bible study group.
The journey continues from WWJD as the drifter (John Schneider) arrives into a new town - inspiring a group of people to live as Jesus would. A troubled teen heads down the wrong path dragging his brother along with him.
A young woman struggles with the pressures of being in a romantic relationship. A family hopes to reunite with their estranged father. When the local pastor Joseph loses his faith in the lord the Drifter leads the pastor and the community on an improbable journey back to faith and redemption.
